Rick Hendrick does not believe Jimmie Johnson has an issue with restarts.

Instead, the team owner thinks the problem is NASCAR is inconsistent in policing restarts.

Johnson has lost two races in the last month in part to issues with the restart. The five-time NASCAR champion was penalized for jumping the start at Dover and was upset last week at Kentucky with how Matt Kenseth was restarting the race.

Hendrick said so much has become technical in NASCAR that officials should be using technology to monitor restarts.

Johnson said heading into Saturday night's race at Daytona he needs to loosen up in regard to the restart rules. But Hendrick said NASCAR could clear the whole thing up with a timing line that holds all drivers accountable.
