The New York Islanders added Pierre-Marc Bouchard in the opening hours of free agency, signing the forward to a one- year contract.

The 29-year-old Bouchard had spent his entire career with the Minnesota Wild, who took the Quebec native with the eighth overall pick in the 2002 draft.

Last season, the 5-foot-10 Bouchard registered eight goals and 12 assists in 43 games.

Plagued by concussion issues earlier in his career, Bouchard has racked up 106 goals and 241 assists in 565 games.
