Just a few hours after being bought out by Vancouver, Keith Ballard has found a new home as the defenseman agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.

Ballard had the final two years of his contract bought out by Vancouver earlier in the day, and will now call Minnesota his new home as he agreed to a two-year deal with the team.

The contract will be made official on Friday.

Ballard, 30, had spent the past three seasons with the Canucks. During the shortened 2013 campaign, he posted just two assists in 36 games.

For his career, the Minnesota native and 2002 first-round pick has totaled 36 goals and 129 assists in 545 games with Phoenix, Florida and Vancouver.
