Detroit Tigers second baseman Omar Infante left in the fourth inning of Wednesday's 6-2 win against the Toronto Blue Jays with a shin contusion.

With Colby Rasmus on first and one out, Rajai Davis hit a grounder to shortstop where Jhonny Peralta fielded the ball. Peralta got the ball over to Infante for the force out, but Rasmus' hard slide took out Infante before he could get the ball over to first.

Infante went into the air on the play and landed hard. After several minutes of attempting to walk off the injury, he came off the field and was replaced by Ramon Santiago.

The team later announced that x-rays were negative and that he will be re- evaluated on Thursday.

Infante is batting .309 with six home runs and 27 RBI over 76 games this season.
