The Arizona Diamondbacks placed infielder Willie Bloomquist on the 15-day disabled list with a left hand contusion and recalled outfielder Tony Campana from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Bloomquist was hit in the left hand as pinch-hitter on June 26 at Washington, but x-rays did not reveal a break.

In 22 games for the D-Backs, he was hitting .292 with eight RBI. He began the season on the disabled list with a strained right oblique and was reinstated on May 31.

In 71 games for the Aces this season, Campana hit .288 with one homer, 22 RBI and 24 stolen bases.
