Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim center fielder Peter Bourjos has been placed on the disabled list for the second time this season, this time due to a fractured bone in his right wrist.

Bourjos suffered the injury after being struck by a pitch from Houston's Jordan Lyles in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Astros. The speedster was previously sidelined for much of May and June with a strained left hamstring, and had sat out five straight contests with a bruised thumb prior to returning to the lineup on Saturday.

In just 40 games this season, Bourjos has hit .326 with three home runs and 10 RBI while stealing four bases.

Outfielder Collin Cowgill was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake prior to Tuesday's matchup against St. Louis to replace Bourjos.

Cowgill began the season with the New York Mets but was designated for assignment on June 18 after batting .180 in 23 games. The Angels acquired him in a trade a week later.
