The Colorado Rockies recalled pitcher Drew Pomeranz from Triple-A Colorado Springs to start Sunday's series finale against the San Francisco Giants.

Pomeranz will make his season debut after starting 22 games for the Rockies last season. He went 2-9 with a 4.93 ERA for the club a year ago, and was left off the team's Opening Day roster to work on his repertoire.

The 24-year-old lefty went 8-1 with a 4.20 earned run average in 15 starts for Colorado Springs this season to earn the promotion.

The Rockies will go for a three-game sweep of the Giants on Sunday. To make room on the roster for Pomeranz, they optioned pitcher Rob Scahill to Colorado Springs.
