Stoke-on-Trent, England (Sports Network) - Stoke City has captured the signature of defender Erik Pieters from Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven, the club confirmed on Friday.
Pieters makes the move to the Premier League on a four-year contract.
The Dutch international had been linked with a move to the Potters in January, but an injury pushed the move back and new Stoke boss Mark Hughes has signed the 24-year-old defender for a fee believed to be three million pounds.
Pieters becomes Hughes' first signing since taking over at the Britannia Stadium in May for the departed Tony Pulis.
