The Philadelphia Flyers officially signed defenseman Mark Streit to a multi-year contract on Friday.

The four-year deal is worth $21 million, according to TSN of Canada.

The Flyers acquired the rights to Streit from the New York Islanders in exchange for prospect Shane Harper and a fourth-round pick in the 2014 draft on June 12.

Streit would have become an unrestricted free agent July 5.

The 35-year-old Streit recorded six goals and 21 assists while appearing in all 48 games for the Islanders this past season. He added two goals and three assists in six playoff games.
