The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder Scott Van Slyke from the 15-day disabled list on Friday.

Van Slyke, who had been on the DL since June 11 with left shoulder bursitis, came into Friday's game against Philadelphia hitting .221 with six home runs and 11 RBI over 24 games this season.

The Dodgers opened a roster spot for Van Slyke by designating infielder Luis Cruz for assignment. He has a .127 average in 45 games this season.
