The LPGA Tour announced Thursday that the Wegmans LPGA Championship will remain in New York in 2014, but will shift to Monroe Golf Club.

The move to Monroe is for just one year, but it will mark the fifth straight year the championship will be contested in the Rochester area.

"The LPGA is thrilled and grateful to continue our longstanding partnership with Wegmans, the Rochester region, and the golf fans that have shown us such incredible support and hospitality over so many years," said LPGA commissioner Michael Whan. "Our return in 2014 not only continues this major tradition in one of golf's greatest cities, but also brings us to a new host venue. Together with Wegmans, we are excited to introduce fans in more than 160 countries to Monroe Golf Club while continuing to showcase Rochester as one of the truly best locations for world-class golf venues."

With the U.S. Women's Open being contested the week after the men's U.S. Open, both at Pinehurst No. 2, there will be a shift in the LPGA schedule next year, and that shift moved the Wegmans from June until next August 14-17, 2014.
