New York Giants wide receiver Brandon Collins has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the upcoming NFL season for violating the league policy and program for substances of abuse.

Collins will still be eligible to participate in all of the team's offseason and preseason activities, but won't be eligible to return to the Giants' active roster until Monday, Sept. 30, one day after New York's Week 4 matchup at Kansas City.

The Southeastern Louisiana/Texas product was originally signed by the Giants as a rookie free agent on May 14, 2012 and spent the majority of last season on the practice squad.
