American Brooks Koepka closed with a 3- under 68 on Sunday to win the Scottish Hydro Challenge.

Koepka, who fired a 62 in the third round, ended at 18-under-par 266. His total of 266 matched the tournament record that Sam Walker set in 2006.

This was Koepka's third win of the season on the Challenge Tour and that gains him immediate status on the European Tour for the rest of this year and all of 2014.

It was his fourth victory overall on the Challenge Tour, and they have come in just 20 tour starts. He is the sixth player in tour history to earn the automatic promotion.

Koepka poured in four birdies in the first six holes to soar to 19-under. He dropped a shot on the seventh, but got that right back as he birdied the ninth.

Things got interesting on the back nine as Koepka carded three bogeys between the 12th and 16th. That trimmed his lead to one, but he bounced back with birdies on the final two holes to win by three.

Walker closed with a 69 to earn a share of second place at minus-15. He was joined there by Andrea Pavan (71), Steven Tiley (72) and Byeong-hun An (72).

Paul Maddy (68), Sebi Garcia (69), Johan Carlsson (71) and Duncan Stewart (72) shared sixth place at 12-under-par 272.

There was a pair of lengthy weather delays on Sunday, and the round was completed as rain continued to fall.
