Texas Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland was activated off the 15-day disabled list Friday after recovering from a right hamstring strain.

Moreland was placed on the DL June 6, a day after suffering the injury while running the bases in a game against the Boston Red Sox. He played three minor league rehab games at Double-A Frisco this week and was 6-for-12 with a homer and three runs batted in.

In 58 games for Texas this season, Moreland is batting .288 with 12 homers and 29 runs batted in.

Texas optioned pitcher Josh Lindblom to Triple-A Round Rock to open a roster spot. Lindblom started Thursday's game against Oakland and did not figure in the decision after allowing two runs on eight hits in five innings.

The right-hander is 0-2 with a 5.40 ERA in four starts for the Rangers this season.
