Second seed Gilles Simon moved on, while Eastbourne standout Andreas Seppi continued his winning ways at this tournament with a quarterfinal victory Thursday at the $625,000 Aegon International, a final grass-court Wimbledon tune-up.

The former top-10 Frenchman Simon got past talented Aussie Bernard Tomic 7-6 (10-8), 6-3, while the seventh-seeded Seppi subdued Czech veteran Radek Stepanek 6-4, 6-2 at Devonshire Park. The Italian Seppi titled here two years ago and was last year's runner-up to since-retired American star Andy Roddick.

Simon and Seppi will do battle in Friday's marquee semifinal.

Also on Day 4, Croat Ivan Dodig upended eighth-seeded Italian Fabio Fognini 6-3, 6-2, and in a battle of Spanish left-handers Feliciano Lopez topped Fernando Verdasco 6-4, 7-6 (8-6). Dodig and Lopez will square off in the other semi.

The 2013 Eastbourne champion will collect $113,000.
