The San Antonio Spurs have long been the NBA's gold standard when it comes to drafting and development. They comb the globe to find the right players to fit their well-established system, then spend the time it takes to develop them.

Even their American players don't come from America. Danny Green, Gary Neal and Matt Bonner all played overseas before establishing themselves with the Spurs. And the patience and work that the Spurs put in is paying off in a major way in the NBA Finals.

Neal scored 24 points in Game 3 and Green has set the finals record for made 3-pointers.

The unlikely contributions have helped the Spurs take a 3-2 lead over the Miami Heat heading into Tuesday's Game 6 in Miami.
