Joaquin swaps Malaga for Fiorentina

Fiorentina has secured the services of Spanish winger Joaquin Rodriguez from Malaga after the player signed a three- year contract with the Serie A club.

Joaquin joins the Viola after spending the past two seasons with Malaga, which won its Champions League group last season before being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the competition.

The 31-year-old started his career with Real Betis in 2000 before moving to Valencia in 2006.

Joaquin signed with Malaga in 2011 and recorded four goals with six assists in 33 La Liga appearances last term.

He will join a Fiorentina side that finished fourth in Serie A last season, two points behind AC Milan for the third and final Champions League place.
