The Philadelphia Phillies have optioned pitcher Tyler Cloyd to Triple-A Lehigh Valley and recalled pitcher Jake Diekman.

Cloyd has appeared in six games for the Phillies this season. He has posted a record of 2-2 with a 3.41 ERA.

Cloyd is likely being sent down to the minors to make room for starting pitcher John Lannan, who will start Monday for the Phillies.

Diekman went 1-0 with 11 saves and a 5.70 ERA in 30 games with Lehigh Valley this season.

The Phillies also sent down second baseman Cesar Hernandez to Lehigh Valley and called up infielder Michael Martinez.

Hernandez appeared in nine games for the Phillies. Martinez played in three games for Philadelphia earlier this season.
