Pittsburgh, PA – Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin could miss the remainder of the regular season with a foot injury.
Malkin was hurt early in Sunday's game against St. Louis, but managed to play the entire contest.
Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Tuesday that Malkin will be sidelined for at least two weeks and possibly as long as three.
A two-week timetable would enable Malkin to return for the final few games of the regular season, but he would be out until the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs under a three-week timeline.
Malkin has appeared in 60 games this season, sitting out 12 contests during December and January with a lower-body injury. He is the club's second-leading scorer with 72 points, having posted 23 goals and 49 assists.
