Twins call up Thomas

Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Twins selected the contract of outfielder Clete Thomas from Triple-A Rochester on Monday.

Thomas was hitting .296 with eight doubles, nine home runs and 25 RBI in 36 games with Rochester this season. The 28-year old appeared in 12 games for the Twins last year after being claimed off waivers from Detroit in April.

Minnesota also designated pitcher Tyler Robertson for release or assignment. The left-hander appeared in two games for the Twins before being optioned to Rochester on April 6.
