The San Francisco 49ers agreed to terms with veteran safety Raymond Ventrone on a two-year contract Monday.

Ventrone had spent the past four seasons with the Cleveland Browns and recorded seven special-teams tackles in 12 games in 2012. The former undrafted free agent has played in a total of 73 contests with the Browns and New England Patriots since breaking into the league in 2007.

The 29-year-old has primarily contributed on special teams during his six NFL seasons, with 39 of his 50 career tackles coming in that area.

To make room for Ventrone on the current roster, the 49ers waived rookie free agent fullback Jason Schepler.
