Blake Fox hit a walk-off, RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning as the second-seed Rice Owls outlasted the third-seed San Francisco Dons, 3-2, in extra innings to being the Eugene Regional.

Fox was brought in as a fielding replacement in the eighth inning and ended up going 2-for-2 with his biggest hit the game-winning single. Geoff Perrott went 2-for-5 in the contest with a two-run home run in the fifth inning as well for Rice (42-17). Zech Lemond pitched four scoreless innings of relief to get the win after starter Austin Kubitza was taken out after seven innings.

Mitchell Rowan was 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and a double for San Francisco (34-23) while Abe Bobb took the loss in the 11th inning despite the game- winning run he allowed being unearned.

Ryon Healy lined a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to carry the top-seed Oregon Ducks to a thrilling 3-2 victory over the fourth-seed South Dakota State Jackrabbits in the second game of the night.

The Ducks (46-14) entered the bottom of the eighth inning trailing 2-1 but after J.J. Altobelli walked and Aaron Payne was hit by a pitch Healy was able to push across what would be the winning runs. Healy's double was one of just two hits in the game for Oregon.

South Dakota State (35-23) starter Layne Somsen had allowed just a single unearned run over seven innings and came out for the eighth but after walking Altobelli, J.D. Moore was brought in. Moore couldn't hold the lead though and took the loss.

Daniel Telford went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored to lead the Jackrabbits offensively.

On Saturday San Francisco and South Dakota State will meet up in the loser's bracket while Oregon and Rice will play later in the day in the winner's bracket. The winner of the San Francisco/South Dakota State contest will face the loser between Oregon and Rice on Sunday for a spot in the regional final. The loser of the San Francisco/South Dakota State contest on Saturday will be eliminated from the tournament.
