The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns scored 10 runs in the final two innings to post a convincing 15-1 victory over the Jackson State Tigers in the loser's bracket matchup of the Baton Rouge Regional.

Tyler Girouard went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBI while Jake Conrad went 1-for-4 and drove in four runs for Louisiana (42-19). Austin Robichaux allowed just a single run on nine hits over eight innings and struck out eight batters for the win.

Desmond Russell was tagged for nine runs on 12 hits over 7 2/3 innings to take the loss for Jackson State (34-22) which had its season come to an end.

The top-seed LSU Tigers were able to survive a scare in the second game of the day as they rallied for an 8-5 vicrtory over the Sam Houston State Bearkats.

The Bearkats (38-21) got out to an early lead after putting up five runs in the first inning. LSU (54-9) would pull to within 5-4 in the third inning but then the scoring stopped. That was until the eighth inning when the Tigers pushed across four runs thanks to an error, a wild pitch, a hit batter and three walks.

Aaron Nola got the win for the Tigers by pitching seven innings and allowing just five unearned runs. Alex Bregman was the offensive force in the game as he went 3-for-6 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Alan Scott allowed the four runs in the eighth, though only two were earned, to take the loss for Sam Houston State. The Bearkats will face Louisiana in an elimination game on Sunday. The winner earns the second spot in the regional final against LSU.
