Montreal Impact forward Marco Di Vaio was named the Player of the Week on Tuesday for Week 13 of the 2013 Major League Soccer season.

Di Vaio led the Impact to an impressive 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Union at the Stade Saputo on Saturday by scoring a hat trick in just 37 minutes.

The Italian striker opened up the scoring in the second minute when Andrew Wenger cut the ball back for Di Vaio, whose left footed strike found the bottom left corner.

With the game tied at one goal apiece, Di Vaio struck again in the 28th minute. Justin Mapp lobbed a through ball to Di Vaio who brought it down in the center of the box and flicked it over Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath.

Di Vaio completed his hat trick four minutes later when Andres Romero sent in a cross in the box where the 36-year-old deftly side-footed it into the back of the net.

The MLS Player of the Week award is selected each week by the North American Soccer Reporters. The group consists of members of online, print, television, and radio media.
