Dominican right-hander Alfredo Figaro makes his initial start of 2013 on Tuesday night when the Milwaukee Brewers host the Minnesota Twins in the second contest of a two-game interleague series at Miller Park.
The Twins won the opener, 6-3, on Monday, and the teams will head to Minnesota for another two-game set at Target Field on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Monday, Joe Mauer and Chris Parmelee each hit solo homers for Minnesota.
Ryan Doumit supplied a two-run single, while Justin Morneau and Pedro Florimon each drove in one run for the Twins, who have won two of three following a 10- game losing streak.
Starter Kevin Correia (5-4) allowed three homers, but pitched well enough to earn the win over six innings, his first victory since May 9.
"Correia got us through six, It was a good win for us," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "It's how you draw it up. We'll take anything we can get right now."
Two days after recording his first career multi-homer game, Carlos Gomez went deep twice again and Jean Segura added another blast for the Brewers, losers of three straight and six of eight overall.
Wily Peralta (3-6) lost his fourth straight start after yielding four runs -- three earned -- on five hits and five walks over five frames.
The teams split six games in their 2012 series, while the Brewers took four of six played in 2011. Minnesota last won the series in 2009, 5-1.
Figaro debuted in the majors with the Detroit Tigers back in 2009 and was 2-2 in five games, making three starts and compiling a 6.35 earned run average in 17 full innings.
He was 0-2 with the Tigers a year later in eight games - one start - and was out of the majors in both 2011 and 2012 before the Brewers signed him to a free-agent deal in January.
The 28-year-old made 15 straight appearances from the bullpen for Milwaukee and posted a 3.46 ERA in 26 innings, including a one-inning stint on May 25 against Pittsburgh during which he allowed a home run and walked a batter.
He was 0-5 in 11 starts for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan last season.
He's opposed by Minnesota's Scott Diamond, who's winless in three starts since a seven-inning scoreless outing on May 7 in Boston.
The defeat of the Red Sox improved Diamond to 3-2 on the season and 16-16 in his big-league career, but he's since lost to Baltimore and Boston and gotten a no-decision against Detroit while allowing 15 runs in 15 2/3 innings.
A 12-game winner last season while allowing a .274 opposition batting average, Diamond has allowed batters to hit him at a .320 clip in 2013 - 31 points higher than his career mark.
He won his lone career meeting with the Brewers after allowing three runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
