Alex Prugh completed his second round on Saturday and carded a 5-under 67 to join Tyrone Van Aswegen atop the leaderboard at the Mexico Championship.

The second round had to be completed early Saturday as a lengthy weather delay on Friday caused play to be suspended for the second straight day.

Van Aswegen had already finished his second round on Friday with a 65 to hold the clubhouse lead at 9-under-par 135.

Michael Putnam was 1-under through seven holes and held a share of the lead with Van Aswegen when was play was halted, but he traded a pair of bogeys with a birdie during the remainder of his second round en route to an even-par 72, dropping him a stroke off the pace at 8-under.

Putnam is joined by Michael Connell (67), Wes Roach (69), Jim Renner (68) and Stephan Jaeger (69) in third place at El Bosque Golf Club.

Alexandre Rocha (68), Hunter Haas (67), Jeff Klauk (71) and Mark Anderson (69) occupy eighth place at 7-under, while Andrew Svoboda (67) sits three strokes off the pace at minus-6.

The third round will start at 2:20 p.m. (ET) with threesomes off split tees.
