Heather Bowie Young and Silvia Cavalleri went 6-under par on Friday and share the lead at the weather delayed Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.

The duo carded rounds of 6-under 39 at the rain soaked Ocean Club Golf Course at Atlantis Resort.

The course took on nearly a foot of rain on Tuesday and the tour has scrambled to get as many holes as playable as possible.

For the first round, which was suspended due to darkness, players started on the 10th then went Nos. 6-7-4-5-11-12-13-14-2-3-8.

With a lengthy delay due to lightning on Friday, the first round will be completed on Saturday with the second round starting at the same time.

Anna Nordqvist, Paola Moreno, Lisa McCloskey and Austin Ernst share third place at 5-under 40.

Suzann Pettersen headlines a group of 11 players at minus-4. She was joined there by Alena Sharp, Brittany Lang, Jane Rah, Hee Young Park, Julieta Granada, Tiffany Joh, Karine Icher and Ilhee Lee.

Maude-Aimee LeBlanc, who had a hole-in-one on the 12th, and Cindy Lacrosse are also at minus-4. LeBlanc is through nine holes and LaCrosse has finished six.

Bowie Young parred her first three holes, then poured in five consecutive birdies to fly up the leaderboard. The 2005 Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic winner birdied the eighth, her last hole to finish at 6-under.

"It's just Mother Nature, and as a golfer you grow up with this. You know you just go when you can, and they're making the absolute best of the situation," said Bowie Young. "I'm really glad we're playing golf."

Cavalleri ran off three birdies in a 4-hole span from her second hole. She traded a birdie for a bogey at her seventh and eighth, then birdied No. 14, her ninth, to get to minus-4.

The Italian birdied her next two holes as well to gain a piece of the lead.

"We played as many holes as we are allowed to play. Just have to adopt to the course. Now it's a 12-hole course. It's okay," Cavalleri said. "We are professionals, so we just play how many holes they tell us to play."

NOTES: Twenty-seven players will finish their first rounds starting at 8 a.m. (ET) on Saturday ... The second round will start at the same time with players remaining in the same groups and the tee time waves staying the same as they were on Friday.
