Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated pitcher Tom Gorzelanny from the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Gorzelanny has yet to pitch in a major league game this season while recovering from shoulder surgery performed last December. The veteran lefty allowed just one run over 9 2/3 innings, however, during a seven-game rehab stint with Triple-A Nashville.

The 31-year-old made 43 appearances, including 10 starts, for Milwaukee last season and went 3-6 with a 3.90 earned run average.

Milwaukee also recalled utilityman Elian Herrera from Nashville, with infielder Irving Falu and outfielder Logan Schafer optioned to the Sounds following Friday's 6-5 loss to the Reds.

Herrera saw action in 24 games with the Brewers earlier this season, batting .226 in 53 at-bats.

Schafer is hitting just .190 with no home runs and six RBI through 37 games in 2014.
