St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals activated starting pitcher Jaime Garcia from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday.

Garcia, who opened the year on the DL recovering from shoulder surgery, will make his season debut in the finale of a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves.

He last pitched in the majors on May 17, 2013 and Sunday will mark his 100th major league appearance.

Garcia went 5-2 with a 3.58 ERA in nine starts in 2013 before he required season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum and rotator cuff.

To make room for Garcia on the active roster, the Cardinals optioned pitcher Jorge Rondon to Triple-A Memphis.
