The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder/first baseman Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list with an inflamed cervical disc.

The move is retroactive to May 9 and the Rockies will call up outfielder Charlie Blackmon from Triple-A Colorado Springs to fill the roster spot.

Cuddyer was off to a strong start in his second season with the club, posting a .319 batting average with seven homers and 23 RBI in 31 games this season.

The Rockies will look to Blackmon to try and fill Cuddyer's production. The 26-year-old hit three homers and knocked in 21 runs while batting .336 in 31 games with Colorado's Triple-A affiliate.

Blackmon has played in 69 games for the Rockies over the last two seasons and has hit .270 with three homers and 17 RBI at the major league level.
