Munich, Germany – Bayern Munich continued its extraordinary Bundesliga campaign by cruising to a 3-0 victory over Augsburg at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
The Bavarians improve to 88 points in Germany's top flight as they prepare for their Champions League final clash with Borussia Dortmund on May 25. Bayern is unbeaten in its last 13 matches across all competitions as well as its last 24 matches in league play.
After a scoreless first half on Saturday, Thomas Muller helped give the home side the lead with his goal in the 69th minute.
It proved to be all Bayern would need to claim the victory, but Xherdan Shaqiri and Luis Gustavo netted a goal apiece in the final eight minutes of play to put an exclamation point after the scoreline.
Augsburg has lost two straight league matches to remain on 30 points.
Wolfsburg 3, Borussia Dortmund 3
Wolfsburg, Germany - Marco Reus scored twice in the final six minutes to help Borussia Dortmund claim a point from a 3-3 draw at Wolfsburg on Saturday.
Sven bender had given visiting Dortmund the lead after just five minutes, but the home side answered with three goals in the span of 12 minutes as Ivan Perisic bagged a brace against his former club and Naldo tacked on a third in the 26th minute.
Wolfsburg held the two-goal edge until the final stages of the match as Reus scored in the 84th minute before netting the equalizer in the 88th.
Dortmund, already assured of second place in Germany's top flight, climbs to 66 points while Wolfsburg's two successive draws leave the club on 42 points.
Monchengladbach 4, Mainz 2
Mainz, Germany - Branimir Hrgota netted a hat trick en route to Borussia Monchengladbach's 4-2 dismantling of Mainz at the Coface Arena on Saturday.
While Shawn Parker had handed the home side the lead with the opening goal in the 12th minute, visiting Monchengladbach went level by halftime thanks to Hrgota's penalty in the 39th minute.
Hrgota gave the visitors the lead in the 59th minute before Mike Hanke extended the advantage six minutes later. Hrgota then completed his hat trick in the 80th minute before Andreas Ivanschitz netted a consolation goal from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
The result snaps a two-game slide for Monchengladbach as the club improves to 47 points on the season. Mainz, winless in its last eight Bundesliga matches, remains on 41 points.
Bayer Leverkusen 3, Hannover 1
Leverkusen, Germany - Jens Hegeler produced a brace to lead Bayer Leverkusen to a 3-1 victory over Hannover at the BayArena on Saturday.
Hegeler opened the scoring in the sixth minute before Stefan Kiessling netted his Bundesliga-leading 24th goal of the season in the 28th minute. Hegeler extended Leverkusen's lead even further in the 59th minute while Artur Sobiech pulled back a consolation goal for Hannover in the 71st minute.
Leverkusen remains third in the table on 62 points while Hannover stays put on 42 points.
Stuttgart 2, Schalke 1
Gelsenkirchen, Germany - Stuttgart ran out to a 2-1 victory over Schalke at the Veltins Arena on Saturday thanks to a two-goal performance from Vedad Ibisevic.
The Stuttgart striker scored in the 24th minute before doubling the club's edge in the 66th minute. Schalke cut the deficit in half thanks to an own goal from Sven Ulreich in stoppage time, but there was no time left for the home side to complete the comeback.
Schalke has lost two of its last four Bundesliga contests to remain fourth in the table on 52 points while Stuttgart's 42 points put the club in 11th place in Germany's top flight.
Werder Bremen 1, Eintracht 1
Bremen, Germany - Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt scored on opposite sides of halftime on Saturday to settle for a point apiece in a 1-1 draw at the Weserstadion.
Kevin De Bruyne got Bremen off the mark in the 22nd minute, but Srdjan Lakic's goal in the 51st minute helped earn Eintracht a share of the spoils.
Eintracht is unbeaten in its last four Bundesliga outings and improves to 50 points on the season, eight points better than Wolfsburg.
Hamburg 4, Hoffenheim 1
Sinsheim, Germany - Hamburg had four different players make it on the scoresheet on Saturday as the club ran out to a 4-1 romp of Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.
The visitors claimed a three-goal lead thanks to Heung-Min Son, Dennis Aogo and Petr Jiracek. Kevin Volland pulled one back for Hoffenheim, but Artjoms Rudnevs struck two minutes from time to help Hamburg complete the rout and ensure the club's 14th league win of the season.
Hamburg climbs to 48 points to occupy seventh place while Hoffenheim remains second from bottom on 28 points.
Freiburg 2, Greuther Furth 1
Furth, Germany - Freiburg overcame a one-goal deficit to claim a 2-1 victory over Greuther Furth at the Trolli Arena on Saturday.
Matthias Zimmermann handed Furth an early lead thanks to his third-minute goal, but Jonathan Schmid and Max Kruse scored in the span of nine minutes to turn the tide in Freiburg's favor.
Furth had a golden opportunity to earn a share of the spoils, but Nikola Djurdjic failed to convert a penalty kick in stoppage time to leave the club on 21 points for the season. Freiburg climbs to fifth place with 51 points.
Nurnberg 2, Dusseldorf 1
Dusseldorf, Germany - Nurnberg snapped a four-game losing skid on Saturday by collecting three points at the Esprit Arena thanks to a 2-1 defeat of Dusseldorf.
The home side grabbed the lead in fortuitous fashion as Hanno Balitsch conceded an own goal in the 22nd minute, but Nurnberg stormed back thanks to second-half goals from Robert Mak and Marvin Plattenhardt.
Nurnberg improves to 41 points on the season, 11 points better than Dusseldorf.
