Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said forward Luol Deng and guard Kirk Hinrich will miss Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat on Friday.

Thibodeau also said guard Derrick Rose will not play, as rumors about the former MVP's availability continue to swirl. Rose has not played since suffering a torn ACL in Chicago's playoff opener last spring.

Deng underwent a spinal tap last week to rule out meningitis and has been slow to recover. He had complications from the procedure and tried to take part in Thursday's shoot-around.

The 28-year-old Deng missed the first two games in Miami and sat out Games 6 and 7 against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. In the first five games of that series, Deng averaged 13.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Hinrich hasn't played since Game 4 of the first round against the Nets because of a calf injury. He averaged 11.3 points and a team-best 5.8 assists in the first four games of the playoffs.
