Alex Kuznetsov is finally heading to the French Open's main draw, nearly a decade after reaching the junior final as a teenager.

He tried four times to qualify at Roland Garros but never made it.

Now the 26-year-old from Richboro, Pa., and based in Tampa, Fla., is into the field thanks to a wild card from the U.S. Tennis Association, one he earned with clay-court results at lower-level tournaments.

Shelby Rogers, a 20-year-old from Charleston, S.C., won the USTA's women's wild card.
