The Chicago Cubs selected the contract of outfielder Ryan Sweeney from Triple-A Iowa and also recalled pitcher Rafael Dolis from the minor league club.

Sweeney was hitting .337 with six home runs and 16 RBI in 23 games for Iowa this season. The 28-year-old is a career .280 hitter in the majors with 102 doubles, 14 homers and 185 RBI in 535 games with the White Sox (2006-07), Athletics (2008-11) and Red Sox (2012).

Dolis posted no record, one save and a 3.52 ERA in eight relief appearances with Iowa this year. He has appeared in one game (April 14 vs. San Francisco) for the Cubs this season.

In corresponding roster moves, Chicago designated pitcher Kameron Loe for assignment and optioned outfielder Dave Sappelt to Iowa.

Loe was claimed off waivers by the Cubs from the Seattle Mariners on April 14. He posted no record and a 5.40 ERA in seven relief appearances with Chicago.

Sappelt batted .178 (8-for-45) in 20 games for the Cubs this season.
