The ATP says chairman Brad Drewett has died at 54.

The governing body of men's tennis says in a statement he died Friday of a "motor neurone" disease at his home in Sydney. The Australian had served as ATP executive chairman and president since January 2012.

Drewett previously led ATP operations in the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific regions since 2006. He was a top 40 singles and top 20 doubles player before he retired as a player in 1990.
