Denver, CO – The Colorado Rockies signed pitcher Roy Oswalt to a minor league contract on Thursday.
Oswalt will report to extended spring training before being assigned to a minor league affiliate.
"Always loved the mountains, I'm back," said Oswalt on his Twitter account.
Oswalt, 35, pitched for the Texas Rangers last season, going 4-3 in 17 games -- nine starts -- with a 5.80 ERA and 59 strikeouts.
A three-time All-Star, Oswalt has a 163-96 career record with a 3.28 ERA and 1,818 strikeouts with the Houston Astros (2001-10), Philadelphia Phillies (2010-11) and Rangers.
Oswalt has also enjoyed plenty of success at Coors Field. In five career starts there, he is 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA.
