PITTSBURGH – Sidney Crosby is still waiting for doctors to tell him his broken jaw has healed enough to allow him to play.

With or without their dynamic captain, the Pittsburgh Penguins are under pressure heading into the opening round of the NHL playoffs. Pittsburgh is the top team in the Eastern Conference and on Wednesday faces the surging New York Islanders.

Crosby broke his jaw a month ago and remains questionable for Game 1. He practiced Tuesday and says he'll be "good to go" whenever he gets the OK.

Even with Crosby sidelined, the Penguins remain loaded following a series of late-season trades that brought them future Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla and veteran forwards Brenden Morrow and Jussi Jokinen.
