2 (51) - David Amerson, CB, North Carolina State; 3 (85) Jordan Reed, TE, Florida; 4 (119) - Phillip Thomas, SS, Fresno State; 5 (154) - Chris Thompson, RB, Florida State; 5 (162) - Brandon Jenkins, DE, Florida State; 6 (191) - Bacarri Rambo, SS, Georgia; 7 (228) - Jawan Jamison, RB, Rutgers

Top Picks Analysis: The Redskins kind of gave away this draft by moving up to get the franchise, Robert Griffin III, last season. Their only two picks in the top 85 were made to fill needs at cornerback and tight end. Amerson is the kind of lengthy corner teams are looking for these days but he had a terrible 2012 season at North Carolina State after being a turnover machine the year prior. Reed is an undersized tight end who some have compared to Aaron Hernandez physically but with far less production.

Best Value Pick: Rambo is a big, physical safety who understands his role in the defense. If he can hold up in pass coverage on the NFL level, he could turn into a solid starter down the road.

Questionable Calls: Amerson has a lot of Asante Samuel in him in that he will gamble at times to the detriment of the defensive scheme. He also lacks technique and foot quickness but the biggest knock against him is that he doesn't listen to people who are trying to make him a better football player.

Summary: Thomas, the fourth-round safety, may be the surest thing in this draft for the Redskins but they would gladly give up this draft again and again if it meant a healthy RG3 moving forward.
