The New York Knicks will try to sweep the Boston Celtics out of the playoffs on Sunday, but their attempt will come minus Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith.

The NBA suspended the Knicks guard for one game on Saturday for throwing an elbow and striking the chin of Celtics guard Jason Terry.

Stu Jackson, Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations. disclosed the suspension.

Smith was given a flagrant foul 2 and ejected with 7:06 remaining in the fourth quarter of New York's 90-76 win Friday night at TD Garden. The teams resume their series Sunday afternoon, again in Boston.
