Bronx, NY – The Toronto Blue Jays placed first baseman Adam Lind on the paternity list prior to Thursday's game against the New York Yankees.
Lind was not with the team for Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win at Baltimore to be with his expecting wife, and will not play in Thursday's opener of a four-game series with the Yankees as well.
The Blue Jays recalled pitcher Brad Lincoln from Triple-A Buffalo to fill the roster spot. The right-hander posted a 1-0 record and a 5.65 earned run average in 24 relief appearances last year for Toronto, which acquired the former first-round pick in a trade with Pittsburgh this past July.
