Blue Jays put Lind on paternity list

The Toronto Blue Jays placed first baseman Adam Lind on the paternity list prior to Thursday's game against the New York Yankees.

Lind was not with the team for Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win at Baltimore to be with his expecting wife, and will not play in Thursday's opener of a four-game series with the Yankees as well.

The Blue Jays recalled pitcher Brad Lincoln from Triple-A Buffalo to fill the roster spot. The right-hander posted a 1-0 record and a 5.65 earned run average in 24 relief appearances last year for Toronto, which acquired the former first-round pick in a trade with Pittsburgh this past July.
