The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Franklin Gutierrez on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a strained right hamstring.
Gutierrez was removed from Monday's 7-1 win over Houston in the fourth inning after diving for a ball in center field.
The 30-year-old outfielder is hitting .259 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 16 games this season.
To replace Gutierrez on the roster, Seattle recalled outfielder Carlos Peguero from Triple-A Tacoma.
Peguero was batting .246 with two home runs and 14 RBI over 17 games with the Rainiers.
