The Phoenix Suns announced their decision to dismiss general manager Lance Blanks on Monday.

Blanks came to Phoenix prior to the 2010-11 campaign and spent three seasons at the post. The team went 98-132 under his direction, including a Western Conference-worst 25-57 mark in 2012-13.

"Lance has been a trusted friend and colleague," said Suns president of basketball operations Lon Babby. "I thank him personally and professionally for his hard work on behalf of the Suns. We will continue to prepare for the offseason even as we look for his replacement."

Blanks had spent five seasons as the assistant general manager in Cleveland before taking the job in Phoenix, where the Suns failed to make the postseason during his tenure.
