Cibulkova pulls out; Cirstea ousted in Morocco

No. 1 seed Dominika Cibulkova pulled out of the draw, while South African Chanelle Scheepers knocked out second-seeded Romanian Sorana Cirstea in 6-3, 6-1 fashion at this clay-court tennis event.

Also on Day 1, Spaniard Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor drilled Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, 6-1, 6-1.

Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens bested Spaniard Laura Pous Tio in last year's Moroccan Grand Prix finale, in Fes. Bertens is this week's fifth seed.
