The Cleveland Indians placed right-handed pitcher Brett Myers on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with right elbow inflammation.

The 32-year-old left his start versus the Houston Astros on Friday after five innings and returned to Cleveland to be evaluated Sunday morning.

Myers is 0-3 in four appearances, including three starts, this season with a 8.02 earned run average over 21 1/3 innings.

The Indians announced that righty Corey Kluber will replace Myers in the rotation and is expected to start Wednesday's game versus the Chicago White Sox. The club also promoted right-handed pitcher Fernando Nieve from Triple-A Columbus.
