Angel Cabrera defeated Rafael Gomez on the first playoff hole Sunday to win the 82 Abierto OSDE del Centro event.

Cabrera fired a 7-under 64 during his final round at Cordoba Golf Club to finish at even-par 284 for the tournament.

Cabrera, who lost to Adam Scott on the second playoff hole at the Masters last week, closed with an eagle at the last to join Gomez in first place.

Gomez was still in the midst of his final round, however, and tripped to a bogey at the 17th to fall behind the two-time major winner. He bounced back with a birdie at the 18th to force the playoff.

Cabrera then hit his second shot of the extra hole to about six feet from the hole and rolled in his birdie effort for the win, as Gomez did not reach the green until his third shot after his drive found a bunker.

It is the eighth time Cabrera, who is from Cordoba and used to caddy at the Cordoba Golf Club, has won this event. That includes a three-year run from 2005-07.
