The USADA announced that United States Olympic sprinter Shawn Crawford has received a two-year suspension for committing an anti-doping rule violation in which he failed to file his whereabouts information.
Crawford, the 2004 Olympic 200-meter champion, had three "whereabout failures"in 18 months. The 32-year-old Culver City, CA resident could have received the violation for failing to provide regular information about how to be for for tests "and/or failure to be available for testing due to inaccurate or incomplete information," USADA announced in a press release.
The two-year period of ineligibillty began on Wednesday, the date he received the sanction. Crawford has been disqualified from all competitive results achieved on and subsequent to November 17, 2012, the date of his third Whereabouts Failure, including forfeiture of any medals, points, and prizes.
