The New York Knicks' Mike Woodson and Mike D'Antoni of the Los Angeles Lakers have been named the NBA's Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively, for April.

Woodson guided the Knicks to an 8-2 record, tied with the Miami Heat for the most wins in the league in April. The Knicks finished the regular season with 50-plus wins for the first time since 1999-2000, and their 31-10 home record is best in the conference.

D'Antoni's Lakers went 7-1 in April, tied with the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers for the best record in the conference. They finished the season with five straight wins despite lacking Kobe Bryant (torn Achilles tendon) in the lineup for the final two.

The Lakers' 45-37 overall record was good for seventh in the conference standings.

Other nominees for the award included Brooklyn's P.J. Carlesimo, Denver's George Karl, Memphis' Lionel Hollins, Miami's Erik Spoelstra and Oklahoma City's Scott Brooks.
