Newcastle defender Ryan Taylor may miss all of next season after he suffered further damage to his cruciate ligament.

Taylor sustained the initial injury in Newcastle's Europa League qualifier against Atromitos in August, and he required surgery which kept him out for eight months.

But after recently returning to training, it was revealed by the club that Taylor has been hit with a setback, meaning he could miss "the majority, if not all, of next season."

The 28-year-old featured in 34 games for the Magpies last term, but his latest setback casts considerable doubt over his future.
