Michigan State has added depth to its frontcourt by adding forward Gavin Schilling.
Schilling signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play for the Spartans.
The Chicagoan might get a chance to compete for a lot of playing time if Adreian Payne chooses to skip his senior season to enter the NBA draft.
Schilling averaged 13.9 points, nine rebounds and two-plus blocks last season at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev.
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo says he's excited about Schilling joining the program because he comes from a tremendous program and a great family. Izzo says the 17-year-old Schilling does a good job of defending, rebounding and running the court.
Schilling was born in Germany and lived in France before moving in 2003 to the United States.
