Key players go down in what was a painful spring for Pac-12 teams

PHOENIX – A painful spring has taken a toll on football teams in the Pac-12.

Teams across the conference lost key players to significant injuries and many were forced to prohibit tackling during scrimmages to prevent more players from getting hurt.

Arizona's Jordan Hill, expected to be one of the nation's best receivers, went down with a torn left anterior cruciate ligament during spring practice and will likely miss the 2013 season.

USC receiver George Farmer is out for the upcoming season after tearing two ligaments in his left knee and Colorado quarterback Jordan Webb will seek a sixth year of eligibility after tearing his right ACL.

Stanford quarterback Josh Nunes also may not be ready for the fall after suffering an undisclosed injury to his throwing arm during a workout.
